4 TV Shows getting a US Remake in 2011 and Why They Could Fail

The UK to US translation has not always gone well. The idea behind it is many US executives have run out of ideas and have a lot of money and instead of spending time on market research, looking through original ideas, they come to the conclusion of not being stupid and not taking a risk by saying, well it plays over there (Britain) and if it doesn't play over here (The best country in the world), well it ain't my fault. So let's have a look at the 2011 schedule and see what's gonna be a big bit of floppy bollocks or a tall strong tower of might and freedom.

Morning Roll Call 2/11

So after seeing The Social Network last night and deciding not to post a review right away, I have had a fairly goodnight sleep. If I did do the review, I probably would have been up all night watching Gerry, which is probably not even worth mentioning because of how little that film even registers on my film blips.
So what'd we miss this morning? Well not much apparently.

Roger Rabbit 2: Apparently Still on

http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=34532
Something like Roger Rabbit in it's own right is a pretty fantastic piece of film. The script, the references, the character, the style (both animation and film) are top notch and recently, Robert Zemickis admitted in an interview with MTV News that a Roger Rabbit two is still on it's way.
They did an early animation test a decade or so again and it doesn't look bad, but apparently it was a pain in the ass to do. But with programs such as Maya and the incredible work of the guys at Pixar (as well as the okay, but not heaps great Zemickis IMAX, 3D films), who knows what they could do with it.

Bit other than a bit of nostalgia, I can see why this film would get a greenlight and a fairly good box office.

Coz ya'know, everyone wants to know what she's up to.
