Tomb Raider to be rebooted

Being a 90's kid, this gaming goddess is critical to any gamer or teenage boy. Having her return in, what looks like, a gritty remake, isn't a bad idea. But I kind of liked what I saw from Guardian of Light and I heard some bad/mediocre things about the past games, well anything after 3. The developers seemed to have focused on more of an action orientated Lara more than anything else, which is good, it's where the gaming world was going in this age of Gears of Halo, cover, shoot, find enemy, cover, throw grenade, gratutitous shot, but people and the industry needs to grow up and I just hope the next generation or rather next year we will grab onto something much more fun or tangible.
For previous years, trends have gone as such:
2001 - Hey, let's make Halo
2002 - Violent/gory games are soooo mature
2003 - GTA3 is da bomb
2004 - Sequelitis/Handhelditis
2005 - The rise of the music game
2006 - The beginning of the end for motion games (i.e. Nintendo Wii launched)
2007 - Hey, let's make Gears of War
2008 - Hey, let's make GTA4
2009 - Hey, let's make motion controlled games
2010 - Hey, let's make some great Indie games/MINECRAFT

Who You Gonna Call? A Good Game Developer apparently

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/105797-Ghostbusters-Get-Slimed-Again-in-Online-Co-op-Brawler

I love the Ghostbusters films, I loved the cartoon series'  and I really loved the game that was released last year. Combining the original cast, a fairly original script and so much fandom it'd make a fangirl orgasm, the game was fairly solid, give or take a few annoying ghosts and minor bugs.
But in recent news, creators of the recent XBLA/PSN Lara Croft Game recently secured the IP for a Ghostbusters game and it looks to be fairly awesome...much like any non-human form of Janine.
...implying they weren't up to something...

The 10 Things I've Learnt About Video Games This Year

I'm a University Student, but more importantly I'm a creative writing and arts student which implies I am the laziest of the higher learning crowd. So when it comes to being incredibly lazy, video games are a great form of wasting time or more importantly wasting time with friends, but this year I've been watching over myself and learnt a few things about video games. So here are a few things I've learnt about video games in 2010:

We're Back: Not a Dinosaur story

I know only about 10 people come to the site daily, so this isn't really news to anyone, but I'm nearly over my chest infection, my family crisis is still on-going, I'm almost sick of playing video games and taking cough syrup (syzzurp) and I've failed NanoWriMo. I got up to 30 000 words and even now looking at it, whilst I'm happy with what I have, I know that the book/novel/delusion was going to be at least 75 000 to 100 000, I was barely nearing a 1/3 where I was at. I did hope someone enjoyed reading it with all the typo's and such.
Anyway, I will be starting some updates tomorrow morning and a small piece about the 10 things I've learnt from playing video games this year and 10 things I've learnt from music this year (due Wednesday)
So to everyone who actually reads or was waiting for something, I thank you dearly.
In the mean time, I hope this poster and song brings back fond memories, which have not been dashed by a man named Doug:

Morning Roll Call 9/11

Happy 9/11!
Oh right, that's different if you're American.
Anyway, after a frightening dream last night and a fairly good morning of reading, here we have what we've missed....other than Jessica Alba making my blood boil...

Morning Roll Call 3/11

I get eye strain, like fairly other normal people and this morning I decided instead of bursting from my grey bed covers that I'd read for a while and let the morning soak me into itself, rather than my eyes soaking into bursts of light from my laptop, and I gotta say, it felt good and writer-ly (coz that's a word)
Now to all my friends who are hastily finishing their projects for the year, you have come this far and this is exactly what you need right now:

Call of Duty draws from the well, for the LULZ

http://www.news.com.au/technology/gaming/leaked-black-ops-trailer-shows-jfk-castro-teaming-up-to-rid-world-of-zombie-nazis/story-e6frfrt9-1225945973326

Call of Duty may have sold me on getting their games the only way they know how; Zombies! I'm not a fan of Call of Duty, mainly because I'm not great at the multiplayer, but mainly because it's often over hyped and usually has a terrible fan base. However, one thing that usually sells me is the storyline (which often rips off a movie or two) and the zombies.

FABLE 3 - An AND (Watching) Review

I haven't been a huge fan of Fable 3 and despite playing through some of 1 and watching a bit of 2, I have found the enjoyment in the game about as much fun as reading Hero with A Thousand Faces three-fold. There is nothing wrong with the type of gameplay which Fable tries to push upon the player, and I do say push upon as if you cannot make your own decisions in the game it will actually choose them for you.
