I found this thanks to Kate Beaton. A novelist by trade and a blogger by night, Joey Comeau has created an interesting and pretty cool story about a boy named Martin who's mother works as a special effects make-up artist. Martin's journey into adolescent framed around a gory and fairly intriguing tale.

"I just wanted to tell you good luck, we're all counting on you" Leslie Nielsen dead at 84

A Canadian comedy legend and a slapstick genius, Leslie Nielsen, is sadly dead at 84. He was admitted a few days ago at Fort Lauderdale Hospital due to pneumonia and his family had hoped  he would recover. The man was the face behind Police Squad and eventually, the Naked Gun films and provided many laughs for me during my childhood, he had a short revival in the Scary Movie sequels with the help of the Zucker brothers but he will be most remembered for his comedic turns in some of the best comedies of the 70's and 80's.
The man is up there with John Belushi, Roger Dangerfield, Chevy Chase and Bill Murray with the kings of big screen comedy, but whilst Chevy is still going strong in Community, it was sad seeing Nielsen put in crap in the 90's and eventually fade away, but if you've never seen any of his films, you have not truly laughed. He will be missed dearly.

The 10 Things I've Learnt About Video Games This Year

I'm a University Student, but more importantly I'm a creative writing and arts student which implies I am the laziest of the higher learning crowd. So when it comes to being incredibly lazy, video games are a great form of wasting time or more importantly wasting time with friends, but this year I've been watching over myself and learnt a few things about video games. So here are a few things I've learnt about video games in 2010:

We're Back: Not a Dinosaur story

I know only about 10 people come to the site daily, so this isn't really news to anyone, but I'm nearly over my chest infection, my family crisis is still on-going, I'm almost sick of playing video games and taking cough syrup (syzzurp) and I've failed NanoWriMo. I got up to 30 000 words and even now looking at it, whilst I'm happy with what I have, I know that the book/novel/delusion was going to be at least 75 000 to 100 000, I was barely nearing a 1/3 where I was at. I did hope someone enjoyed reading it with all the typo's and such.
Anyway, I will be starting some updates tomorrow morning and a small piece about the 10 things I've learnt from playing video games this year and 10 things I've learnt from music this year (due Wednesday)
So to everyone who actually reads or was waiting for something, I thank you dearly.
In the mean time, I hope this poster and song brings back fond memories, which have not been dashed by a man named Doug:

Because being under the weather means not posting blogs but playing games

Taking some time off to recuperate. Probably will post something tomorrow night. But for now, some duelan games!

Also Steam is having a huge sale and if anyone has some PayPal moneyz, I'd appreciate either Flight Control HD or Deus Ex, just saying.

Fuck it, we'll do it...wrong

I know The Simpsons have gone down hill but what they really need to do is to keep biting the hand that feeds. They can go down in a blaze of glory if they keep this up, I would love it if they did. If you follow Matt Greoning from Life in Hell to Futurama, his social satire has always been awesome, biting and what makes him fun.

Translator - Part 3

I am over 10 000 words behind but I felt I should still keep updating and still writing, despite being a bit under the weather, I mean I can't just play video games and poker all day...or could I?

Fox: The Reboot Creator or how I don't have the right to say anything about Buffy.

So there have been a few conflicting reports coming from around the web about whether or not 20th Century Fox has decided to reboot the 90's classic as either a movie or TV series. If we trace the roots of the TV Series back to the 1992 comedy-horror flick, starring hottie-then Kristy Swanson, as the titular character, an actual remake of the vampire film isn't so bad, however as a way to draw new people to the series it could be good for it's TV Series creator, Joss Whedon.
Damn, she's also a hottie-now

Still a bit f'd up but still able to write a thing or two (but nothing more on Translator, sadface), but first a reminder whilst you chug down a Diet Coke or a Mount Franklin today:

This was hilarious, just based on this:

Poker Night At The Inventory

One of the best and luckiest times to get sick is when a new game comes out.
This and Flight Control will be eating up my time all summer.

The game is hilarious, fun and envelopes my love for comedy, crossovers and card games.

My entire reason for getting the Kinect...kinda shattered

Is it me or does this game have automatic steering?

Just got Poker Night At The Inventory on Steam, and am loving the fuck out of it.

Really? You're gonna do this?

Four Seasons: An Asthmatic's Review

Just so I didn't just make a small update, a shitty little post and then a vague, slightly ominous message left on the front page. So what's been happening? Well, I have asthma, not like I just caught it, but in general, and the penultimate season of the year in Australia has decided to catch up to me and beat me to a pulp, leaving my nose dripping, my head sore and my words disjointed. The idea of a violent attack is not so bad since I often have my inhaler to keep any kind of serious problem at bay, but the condition known as hayfever (or in my circumstances, ay'veiv-errrr) has destroyed me completely, but Spring isn't the only season I complain about constantly, well, and all the others.

Fuck You, Nature!

My day has taken a strange turn of events and I am LANing again tonight with some bro's. We've got some good 360 games including CoD Blops and we plan on hitting up Nazi zombies hard, as well as some TF2, if you're on Internode later on tonight, you might see me pop up, okay now lets get to some news, but first, this squirrel has to pay the IRS for Nut Collection Taxes:

Afternoon Dump 19/11

It's been a long day for me. I know it's not over, but just been busy with stuff. Planning a new album for just a week before Christmas and played a lot of Minecraft, The Saboteur and TF2, prepping myself for a LAN tomorrow, so I may just do a daily dose in the morning and that's about it, won't be home till after midnight on Sunday. So anyway, I hope this tires you over for the weekend.

Finland Ice Touch Screens FUCK YEAH

Morning Roll Call 19/11

Well, I had a very restless night thanks to drunken relatives who don't know how emotions work or the fact that there is a wall separating me sleeping at 1:30 in the morning and them not shutting the fuck up.
And I know I haven't been posting pics like I used to, so here is what I go through most mornings:

I work hard dammit!
So what have we missed today?

Twilight sucks and why

I just found this site and it is awesome:http://reasoningwithvampires.tumblr.com/
Picking out every single inaccuracy and stupid line in almost every page of the over glorified statutory rape story.

And this site is pretty good:
My lass and me drank 3 four lokos watermelon! We woke up, feeling like shit and my member was all wet. She had a can up her vagina. We have no idea what happened last night. We are totally 'loko.
I regret linking you to that site...

and don't get scammed.

The Late Edition 18/11

Sorry, I've been busy with watching the new Harry Potter, writing the review, doing a small analysis on How To Train Your Dragon and just family and stuff, so I'm sorry if you were expecting a dump this afternoon...but I doubt anyone was....sigh, I have no life.
Anyway, here's what we've got today starting off with this little lady:

"Twilight. It's Better" Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows review

I have only just recently, and by just recently I mean last night, caught up with the Harry Potter films. I stopped reading them when number 5 came out. I can't really remember why, I just remember my parents getting the book for me opening day and I sat down, read it and then I just didn't care as much as I did when the fifth one came out. But when the 7th rolled around I spoiled the crap out of that at High School the Monday after the book came out. Who dies when, how they die, important plot points, I had them all and I was ready to let fire to the slightly pale bastards who had crawled out for the morning just to say "Oh, I've read it twice" or "Oh I totally can't believe she did that" or "I read it in 4 hours", it was as if reading the book had turned into a big dick measuring contest, and now the film is out, I'm sure this morning on Facebook, many people were flounded with status updates at 2:30 or 3 in the morning with, ZOMG HP7P1 DA BEST ONE EVER, well I'm here to not spoil the film for you in any way or to tell you it's DA BEST ONE EVER, I'm here to say, it was pretty good.

Morning Roll Call 18/11

I'm off to see Harry Potter 7 today after getting through 5 and 6 last night. I'll probably post a review tonight.
After finishing two Harry Potter flicks back to back, it kinda feels a bit like this 50% of the time:

But for now let's see what's in the news:

BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT FASCIST ADVENTURE

I love Bill & Ted. They are one of the seminal character duo's of my childhood. Up there with Wayne & Garth, Pinky & The Brain and Charlie & Uncle Joe, all of them are great teams but their motives are incredibly clear for their films/shows and prospective projects. However, Bill S. Preston and Ted 'Theodore' Logan are two incredibly stupid characters, so stupid in fact, they caused the world to fall under a fascist regime. How, do you ask? Well, here is a small shot from the film when they go to the future:

The actual look of these people are similar, wouldn't you say? They all dress the same, they all take simple orders and all have a very strange salute they all do...sound like some people you know.

Afternoon Dump 16/11

How are you doing this afternoon?
Yeah not too bad, how you doing kitty?
AWWW YEAH

YES, EVERYTHING IN THIS, YES

FUCK YEAH APHEX TWIN

Morning Roll Call 15/11

I've had an incredibly stressful, but fun weekend and decided to not bother with the links of the week. I'm 5000 words behind in Translator and I just got back into TF2...which is both good and terrible, but let's not talk about that, a new week, a new bunch of stories, let's see what we got today:

Sunday, November 14, 2010

The Weekly Ear Worm - Drapht - Rapunzel

Basically gonna post tracks which I cannot get out of my head, this song (dat sample) is fucking awesome and is touring soon.

Afternoon Dump 14/11

So I decided to go ahead with this because I needed to take a break from Translator, which I'm already a fuckton behind and if my calculations are correct I need to be at least 5000 words deep by tomorrow....fffffffffff
anyway, here's the news.

Translator - Part 2

I have barely got anything done this week, which makes me glad I've been releasing these in 3 chapter increments.
I'm technically up to chapter 13 but I've got the entire arc of the book planned out in chapter sets. Right now I'm writing about a small rendevous our protagonist gets up to.
Here's the link for chapters 4-6

Morning Roll Call 14/11

I had an incredible time at a Bro's place last night in a NERF fight, we were up until a bit after midnight which means there was no Afternoon Dump. I may do one today, but if not, I'll still be doing links of the week.
So first off we have....oh not again

I know I have barely done anything today.
But to be honest it's been a bit hectic here at AND, a few things have been mucked up and I might only be posting daily posts rather than bi-daily...or whatever...
anyway
First off, we have some good news from Minecraft

Morning Roll Call 12/11

It is morning, it is a beautiful morning and by that I mean, my album has been downloaded a few times. Share it with friends, play it at parties and enjoy that shit.

EXPLICIT STEAMPUNKAN

This may seem tame but this is as tame as it gets.
Found on Kate Beaton's site, Chester5000XYV, a partially erotic web comic set in Victorian times, about an inventor who creates a robot to satisfy his wife and her wonderfully lonely lusty desires...I am drunk and this is awesome.

Just because I'm drunk and this is hilarious

Afternoon Dump 8/11

Finished my exam with vigour and care...yeah totally.
And now I am free to pursue video game and blogging for the rest of the summer.
Hope your day has been going well, especially with Michael Jackson's new song out. Love the man, danced like the man for many years, so awesome, fuck the haters, he was acquited, bitches be bitching.

Breaking News - Michael Jackson song released! GO GO GO!

Whilst TMZ broke the story with some lyrics, the actual single is still floating around waiting to come to fruition.
http://michaeljackson.com is where the song is at.
Song is rocking the shit!
However, I think the site crashed a few minutes ago because of people overloading the site. The actual song is quite good, kinda History- Dangerous era kinda beats with the usual media-heavy lyrics. The actual music quality of the track fades out a tiny bit at a minute in then picks up at 2:43 then craps out briefly about 3:20 It's good. It isn't classic Michael, but still pretty good from the Prince of Pop.
And how fucking sweet is that cover!
Also apparently his mum is leaking the tracks.

Wow, it's been a week and I have an exam today, so Afternoon Dump may turn into just random links during the day and maybe something tonight. So to make up for that I made a small mix for you guys (Pssst, it's at the bottom)
So puppy, what have we got this morning?

and playing IRL Mario Kart

Learn it, live it, love it.
The man has been around since 2002 when he pretended to be apart of a French football (US: soccer) team and joined in the celebration.

It's been a tough first week, but I have loved every second of actually getting it done.

Also hello my first Canadian viewers, I love your country to bits.

My First Week as a Blogger.

So it's been week one as a blogger and I'm actually quite satisfied with what I've achieved if anything.
This blog was originally created so I wouldn't clog up friend's walls on Facebook and other places with links that they'd have little to no time to actually watch, click etc. on them and whilst I dabbled in being a blogger earlier this year for a Comm. Media assignment, I had felt the idea of me blogging would be incredibly self indulgent and I think that somewhere out there in the great blogosphere, there are a few dead posts from me when I was much younger, including a lot of spelling error-filled posts on Newgrounds, Neopets and other forums revolving around gaming.
So the main rule I had with this would be to keep it about yourself the least amount possible and the easiest way to do that would be to essentially just have it not about me. Sure, I do post things about me and use the pronoun, I, like a ma'fucker, but the main point of this blog is to share links and stories that I normally wouldn't have time to post on people's walls and basically give an overview of today's biggest stories, no matter how untopical and boring they are.
So just a few quick stats on the blog:
In the past week I've had just over 500 page views,
Only a fifth of which were posted on friends walls.
Of that 500+, 330 are from Australia
72 from the US
40 from the UK ('sup Liz)
28 from NZ ('sup Hilz and Cory)
and the rest are from South Africa and Singapore.
Who do I know in Singapore and South Africa and how did you get to my site?
I want to say hey, thank you heaps and I hope you've been enjoying it, thoroughly.
The majority of my viewers use Google Chrome, like me, 29% use Firefox, which is awesome and so much win!
1% use Jasmine...which I have no idea what that is.
78% of my viewers are Windows users, 2% are Mac users...which kinda makes sense with all the bad Apple news I have.
The average daily pageview is 60 and the highest I've had was 127 which is incredible.
I'm thinking I might do a Sunday afternoon post of all the best links of the week called Shuffle, probably mainly videos and pics I've enjoyed.
So I hope you've enjoyed my first week and tomorrow I'll be posting a small thing about my first week in NanoWriMo and what I've been working on.

It's fairly old news, but there have been some awesome pics of Minecraft costumes hitting the web.

Unnecessary Quotation Marks

Unnecessary Quotation Marks
I just realised I could do this, it is awesome and there is actually a site devoted entirely for Unnecessary Quotation Marks.

Afternoon Dump 6/11

First to start off, an awesome trailer for a movie I am definitely seeing next year based on the cast and trailer...which is something I rarely do without any extra research:

More Black Ops Win!

To be honest I'm trying to see if the blog gets more hits with seperate posts rather than dumps. I prefer showing stuff straight away anyway than waiting till like 1:30 or whatever rolls around.

A Toxic Remake

http://www.deadline.com/2010/11/steve-pink-to-direct-toxic-avenger-redo/
Apparently what the world needs is another Toxic Avenger film.
Not proper education, financial stability or a good family home, but a reboot of a film franchise known specifically for it's child murdering, flammable stunt men and nudity.

If you're happy and you know it, dance naked in front of your Kinect...Also Zombies

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/105061-Warning-Dont-Play-Dance-Central-Naked
For those of you with a 360 or any kind of gaming console with an attached camera device. Read the fine print, look at how the game functions and do a tiny bit of research before you purchase the game.
I know caveat emptor gets thrown around alot but seriously when stories like this crop up, it's no wonder we have the Darwin Awards.
In zombie news, Nerf Human's vs. Zombies is online, hilarious and awesome AND I cannot suggest this for more campuses and fun days. All you need is some corn syrup, red dye, nerf guns and a bit of extra make-up and you're set.

Now for some good gamer related caught on camera video, here's a classic from 2008;

Tim Minchin and Goats

Just coz this totally needed it's own post

Morning Roll Call 6/11

Last night I got into an hour or so of The Saboteur and it is incredible, fun and I'll probably do a very belated review once I'm done with it. Because it's the weekend I will be posting less, mainly because I have a lot to get done today and tomorrow, but that doesn't mean there won't be a Morning Roll Call and a few links during the day, as well as an update on how my NanoWriMo is going and a few stats and thoughts of being a blogger for a week.
So what have we got today?
Well let's let the puppy tell us:

Extra Dump 5/11 : IT'S GUY FAWKES DAY!

Hope you enjoyed my little story earlier today and we have a few more coming your way.
It's almost been a week since I started this blog and I want to thank everyone (especially people in Singapore, South Africa and the US) for viewing my blog, which I will keep up until I get a real job...or isn't playing Minecraft:

Speaking of real jobs, let's get underway with our first story about hacking

Christmas is coming up and Star Wars is awesome...

why not combine the two?
Just saying:

Jack Trades: Master of Nuns Chapter 1

I took some time out of doing NanoWriMo to just go mad with a very different character and storyline to Translator. I just needed to get this out of me and to relax. Enjoy...also Blogs and formatting do not go well together.

Afternoon Dump 5/11

I started playing The Saboteur this morning and have been enjoying the hell out of it and procrastinating, like a mo'fo'. The game is fantastic, the visuals, the gameplay and the characters are incredibly engaging. I know the game came out earlier this year but my lack of playing it was mainly because it takes me a long time to process that nudity in any game is not worth it when I have access to the internet, especially when the girl's, of course, don't exist and looks like this:

IN GIMME GIMME GIMME NEWS!

http://www.mezcotoyz.com/store/detail.aspx?ID=896
OH MY FUCKING GOD GIVE IT TO ME!
From the site:
Mezco Toyz presents a new 6inch figure of Scott Pilgrim based on the character from the popular Universal Pictures feature film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and the chart topping series of graphic novels.

Meet charming and jobless Scott Pilgrim; a bass guitarist for garage band Sex Bob-omb. The 22-year-old has just met the girl of his dreams...literally. The only catch to winning Ramona Flowers? Her seven evil exes are coming to kill him.

Mezco’s 6” figure captures the wide-eyed enthusiasm and quirky nature of Scott Pilgrim and features 8 points of articulation. To help capture the many looks of Scott Pilgrim, there are 2 separate figures; The first figure wears a green shirt and comes with a closed mouth head. The second in a yellow shirt comes wearing a jacket and has 50/50 pack of the open mouth/closed mouth head. Both variations will come with the sword and guitar.
